There are many different treatment options available to fill a "gap" or replace a missing tooth.

These include -

Removable Partial Dentures provide one option to replace a missing tooth/teeth. These are usually constructed in a special plastic material (acrylic resin) and made to fit around the remaining teeth. Sometimes, metal based frameworks are used - your dentist will advise you on which type would suit you best. We use high quality materials to ensure you have the most natural appearance possible.

Bridges offer a more "fixed" solution to replace a missing tooth/teeth. Placing a bridge usually involves some preparation of the teeth on either side of the gap - the amount of prep work depends on the type of bridge being fitted. Bridges last an average of 8-12 years - they are not permanent. Bridgework is sometimes available to NHS patients.

Implants offer a third option to patients wishing to replace a missing tooth/teeth. The implant itself is surgically positioned within the bone and can then be "loaded" with replacement teeth in the form of crowns, bridges or dentures. We refer our implant patients to a Specialist in Glasgow, who we use regularly with excellent results and positive patient feedback. This treatment is generally not available on the NHS and is carried out on an Independent basis.

The above information is intended as an overview of treatment options available.
