Our young patients are very important to us. Good habits learned now will last a lifetime.
All children should be encouraged to -
brush twice daily (brushing should be supervised until age 7)
use a fluoride toothpaste
spit not rinse after brushing - rinsing with water removes a lot of the fluoride too
Regular dental visits will ensure that any potential problems are identified early on.
We use a variety of measures to help prevent problems including -
fissure sealants
fluoride applications
preventative and dietary advice
hygiene visits
Those older children and teenagers who require orthodontic treatment to straighten teeth are referred to Crosshouse Hospital or a local specialist practice for advice and treatment. Simple cases may be dealt with in-house.
We also provide custom-made mouthguards for use in contact sports like boxing and rugby. These can be tailor made for you in (almost) any colour or combinations of colours. Have your team colours made up - the results look fantastic!!
